Expect the Un-Chetz-Pected: Chetz Esports Return

Chetz have announced a return to esports, once again signing a team headlined by Kyle “Swaggy” Wilson. Swaggy confirmed in a tweet the team will be practicing part-time, unlike the Royals mix he has played with since his retirement last year. The York computer science graduate will handle IGL and AWP duties for Chetz.

Introducing our first CS2 roster, for the upcoming season we will be represented by:@swaggyavi @oskvrxd @shaterics @ReegaNjk @waZzCS2 @addiiCS2 (Coach)

Joining him are two names from that Royals side: Oskar “oskvr” Myszka and Kamyar “shateri” Shateri. oskvr has played with Royals through the last two seasons of UKIC League and also joined Swaggy at EPIC.39. shateri last played with them two years ago, though that was not his last involvement in UKCS as he trialled with Coalesce near the beginning of last year. They have also enlisted the services of Andreas “addi” Wallenberg, who coached Royals in two stints from 2022 to 2023 and was the coach of GEEKZ Energy before the team disbanded.

Another familiar name joining is Reegan “ReegaN” Ward. The UK youngster turned heads with his work on the Arctic Raptors/ Viperio roster, including defeating Team Endpoint in the finals of ESL Premiership Autumn 2023. He left Viperio earlier this year when the Newcastle-based organisation sold Marco “MMS” Salomone to EXO and opted to go fully international with their roster. Filling out the squad is Lipoșteanu “waZz” Corneliu, a Romanian rifler who has played with domestic organisation INFINITE for the past two years.

Chetz was founded by owner and CEO Matthew “Kologne” Penny, who was also on their initial CS:GO roster. Since Swaggy joined in 2019, he has been part of every roster the team has signed. Their most notable achievement under Chetz was winning Grosvenor Esports Season 3 Finals, where Swaggy was the Most Valuable Player.
