TH0R: “There is nothing left for me to do in Iceland, I have won every tournament five times”

Most of our readers know that UKIC stands for UK & Ireland Circuit, but many might not know there is a second silent ‘I’ involved – Iceland.
The most notable time an Icelandic team involved itself in UK CS was when Dusty won EPIC.LAN 35 in 2022.
Coming in as a total dark horse, Dusty went on to make this crazy lower bracket run to victory. Starting in the first round of the Upper Bracket, the Icelandic squad lost to Temperate, but subsequently won six Bo3s in a row to lift the trophy, besting EKO Esports. Þorsteinn “TH0R” Friðfinnsson stood above the rest at EPIC.LAN 35, as he claimed the MVP. This is no surprise to anyone familiar with the name TH0R, as he has been playing at the top of Iceland since he was only 16 years old. Winning over 10 different LANs in his career, TH0R has cemented himself as one of, if not the, best Icelandic players of all time.
After making one last trip over to Kettering for EPIC.LAN 44 and placing fourth with Dusty, there is a new challenge on the horizon for TH0R – the Americas. He recently announced that he would be moving to the States to study and compete at Fisher College in Boston on an esports scholarship.
Already competing for Fisher College from Iceland back on the AWP, TH0R has been playing on 120 ping or higher. This hasn’t deterred him in the slightest, as he has been holding his own, as Fisher College have hotly contested some of the best teams in the region. Fisher College will be competing at their first event this weekend as they travel to Las Vegas for Fragadelphia x LVL UP EXPO 2025.
UKCSGO sits down with TH0R to talk about Dusty playing at EPIC.LAN, his career evolution, the move to America, his expectations for Fisher College, and why the Icelandic scene keeps to itself.
